Authorities arrested two men in Eau Claire in the Kwik Trip parking lot, 2125 Brackett Avenue, on several drug charges on Tuesday.
Eau Claire police say they were notified by the Wisconsin Department of Justice-Division of Criminal Investigation and the City of Madison Police Department that Jumal Willie Jemison, 28, was possibly in the Eau Claire area.
Jemison was wanted for numerous open charges, including sexual assault with a weapon and stalking. He had numerous warrants for his arrest from multiple Wisconsin counties and had been evading arrest for more than a year, according to Eau Claire police.
Authorities observed Jemison in a vehicle with Zan Morgan, 36, near Fairfax Street in the City of Eau Claire. West Central Drug Task Force investigators surveyed the vehicle and saw it stop in the Kwik Trip parking lot on Brackett Avenue. That’s where officers arrested both men. Morgan was on federal supervised release at the time of the arrest, police said.
After searching Jemison, Morgan, and the vehicle, investigators found a “significant quantity of heroin, cocaine, ecstasy, marijuana, and large amounts of separated case, as well as a semi-automatic pistol with a loaded magazine,” according to Eau Claire police.
