Brittany joined News 8 as a reporter in December 2013. She’s a small town girl, with a big-city heart. She grew up in the city of Algoma, which is south of Door County and right on Lake Michigan. She graduated in May 2012 from the University of Wisconsin-Madison with an undergraduate degree in journalism, but she started her college education right here at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse.
Brittany’s passion for broadcast journalism started her sophomore year of college at UW-La Crosse when she took a television class just for fun and she ended up loving every minute of it. So she decided to transfer to UW-Madison and jump headfirst into the journalism field. Her excitement for broadcast quickly grew during her time spent at WKOW-TV in Madison. She started as an intern and quickly took on new roles within the station. After her internship, she became the weekend assignment editor and then the morning newscast producer.
Brittany is excited to be back in La Crosse and call it home once again. It’s been a few years, but she is quickly remembering everything she loved about the La Crosse area. She is proud to be part of the News 8 team.
In January 2015, Brittany was promoted to weekend anchor.
Everyone has a story to tell so send her an email at email@example.com. You never know what kind of story might make someone's day, so don't be shy!
"Singing in the Rain" or "Twister"…I can't decide.
Favorite way to spend a day off?
Unlike the rest of the world, I like to get up early so that I can enjoy the entire day! Then I like to spend the day filled with activities with friends and family…and a whole lot of laughter.
What sports team are you a big fan of?
I believe the world revolves around the Packers, Brewers and Badgers. My parents did a great job raising me as a Wisconsinite.
What are you bad at and wish you could do better?
Cooking. I have a microwave. Enough said.
Do you have a hobby or collect anything special to you?
Musical theatre. I also graduated with a degree in theatre and drama from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. I can be found singing to pretty much anyone who will listen…even my cat. I also find it fun to create and portray different characters. It’s never boring, that’s for sure.
If you could interview one person, living or deceased, who would that be?
What do you like about your job?
I like getting out of my comfort zone on a daily basis. I enjoy the spontaneity of the job because you honestly have no idea how your day is going to turn out. Plus, I talk way too much to be stuck inside all day.
Pizza, sausage, pepperoni, or everything on it?
Pineapple and Pepperoni is my favorite...yes on the same pizza. Is that weird?
