Family and friends showed their support for a wounded soldier Saturday.

No Eagle Left Behind was a benefit held in honor of Menomonie native Jason Church.

The 23-year old is a former UW-La Crosse student and football player who was injured while serving with the army in Afghanistan.

Church's vehicle hit a roadside bomb resulting in the loss of both of his legs beneath the knee.

The proceeds of tonight's benefit will go to helping Church pay for medical expenses and rehab.

Church says he feels blessed to have so many people supporting him.

"It really shows you how deep the friendships and how important they are in your life. Not many people can say they're as lucky a man as I am and I truly mean that. To be able to come back here and have all the people who support me like this is tremendous and I can't say enough," said Church.

Church served as a second lieutenant Airborne Ranger in the Army.
