La Crosse residents looking to dump their Christmas trees will have to hold off for another week.
The city has scheduled pickup for the three starting January 3, 2013.
Street Supervisor Brandon Shea says the city will only take real Christmas trees out of any plastic bags with all of the ornaments and tinsel removed. That way it's easier to grind them up.
"We either let residents take the chips a lot of people use them around their trees for landscaping, or whatever doesn't get used up we end up taking that and it gets hauled to Xcel and will be burned for fuel."
Shea says the trees should be placed on the curb no later than 7:00 a.m.
Pick-up is scheduled to go through January 13.
