EAU CLAIRE, Wis. -

The Eau Claire District Attorney’s Office has filed additional charges against a doctor accused of sexually assaulting juvenile patients while employed as a pediatrician and sports medicine physician at Mayo Clinic Health System in Eau Claire.

Eau Claire police say the new charges against Dr. David Van de Loo are related to 13 additional victims and are a result of an ongoing police investigation.

The investigation began on August 31, 2012, when the parents of a 16-year-old male reported that their son was sexually assaulted by Dr. Van de Loo during a routine examination. Police arrested Dr. Van de Loo following their investigation.

Police say after Dr. Van de Loo was arrested, they received additional complaints that he sexually assaulted other juvenile patients. Charges filed Tuesday are a result of further investigation.

Investigators are looking into similar incidents. Eau Claire police say once those investigations are completed, they will be forwarded to the Eau Claire County District Attorney’s Office for review and charging consideration.

Eau Claire police say they are working on a comprehensive investigation "to determine the facts surrounding the reported sexual assaults," the police news release states. "We are investigating any and all leads that we receive. Sexual assault and child abuse are significant matters which require a timely and thorough investigation."

If you have any additional information regarding this case, you’re asked to contact the Eau Claire Police Detective Division at (715) 839-4978.

Mayo Clinic Health System had issued a statement, saying Dr. David Van de Loo was terminated Sept. 12.
