Neala Frye

LA CROSSE, Wis. -

The La Crosse County Medical Examiner has ruled Neala Frye's death accidental.

Onalaska police found Frye's body in the area of 1st Avenue South near the railroad tracks in Onalaska on February 17. She was a 23-year-old student at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse.

La Crosse County Medical Examiner John Steers says the cause of Frye's death is hypothermia due to exposure to environmental cold. Alcohol contributed to her death.

In February, the preliminary alcohol screen indicated .211 Blood Alcohol Content (BAC). Police said Frye was appearing for a beach party at the Spillway Bar on Saturday, February 16 as a promotional "Sol Girl" to represent her employer: Body & Sol Yoga, Massage & Tan.

The company hosted a vigil for Frye on February 18. "She just had a way of changing people's lives. She can touch people and not even know it," Jenelle Drake, Frye's high school friend said at the vigil.
