A Bangor student is recognized for her creativity in raising awareness of missing children and bringing them home safely.
Gabby Horman's 5th grade class participated in the National Missing Children's Day poster contest.
The students created artwork that represents the nation's efforts to find missing kids. Horman was chosen as this year's winner for Wisconsin.
Attorney General J.B. Van Hollen presented her with the award at a ceremony Monday.
He says teaching kids to take care of themselves is an important lesson too. "Kids, God bless 'em, they're having a lot of fun, and they're learning and they should, but they have to be a little watchful for unusual circumstances as well," said Van Hollen.
Horman is the third winner from Bangor in the eight years of the competition.
