The canvass is ready for La Crosse's district wide art project.
Each of the six-thousand students will receive one of a six by six panel to show what they see as compassion. It's a project we introduced you to last month.
The canvasses arrived Monday morning.
The La Crosse Public Education Foundation is partnering with the district on this project. They say it's about more than the final piece of art.
"Cutting edge neuroscience has shown that those who practice compassion or even think about compassion have measurably healthier brains, so not only is this an art project, but in some sense it's a wonderful project for our mental health as well," said La Crosse Public Education Foundation Exec. Dir. Tim Riley.
All of the pieces of art will be displayed together at the Pumphouse Regional Art Center in La Crosse some time next spring.
