C-FC fell just short of its first state title, but getting over the proverbial "hump," making it to the state tournament, should give the Pirates plenty of momentum into next season.
C-FC graduates three seniors, but the team returns six starters.
"This was a nice accomplishment for the gals, to put it together and make a great run at the end of the year and actually believe in themselves and believe that they can do this and they can compete with the best in the state," said C-FC Head Coach Steve Lyga.
"If they keep playing hard and do what they did this year, they'll get back here," said senior Mikayla Hurlburt. "I believe in them. Our community believes in them."
