Health officials are reminding people that it's not too late to get your flu shot. It's part of National Influenza week.

Local health officials say we've already had three probable cases of influenza-related hospitalizations this year. That's a little earlier than normal.

Health officials say the flu shot is the best way to protect yourself, especially now as people get ready to gather for the holidays. "It takes about two weeks after you get a vaccine before it's really most effective, so like this week is the week where you want to go get your flu shot if you want to be protected over the holidays coming up," said Public Health Nurse Christine Berth.

The public health nurse says there is a good supply of flu vaccinations available this year.
