WINONA, MN (WKBT) -

Minnesota's governor spent Wednesday afternoon fielding questions from college students.

Governor Mark Dayton stopped at Winona State for an open forum with students. Not surprisingly, a number of the questions were focused on the cost of college and the job outlook.

Gov. Dayton says there's still a lot of work to do to make sure college continues to be affordable and that students don't graduate with tremendous debt. "My hope is that the Minnesota economy will continue to improve and allow us to go further in that area, and there were some very good suggestions made about internships, paid internships and also a college work study program that makes up for what the federal government has dropped," said Governor Dayton.

The governor also talked about how Minnesota is doing vastly better with the healthcare sign ups than the federal government.

He also said that he'd like to see a moratorium on frac sand mining in our area.
