Mississippi Valley Conservancy receives $1,000 grant
The Mississippi Valley Conservancy received a $1,000 grant from the Natural Resources Foundation of Wisconsin.
The money will help fund the organization’s Youth Land Conservation and Restoration Program.
“Mississippi Valley Conservancy’s Outreach Program works with over 1,000 area school children in our service area, including the Challenge Academy for at-risk high school students,” Kathryn Frise of the Mississippi Valley Conservancy said in a statement. “This program provides students with hands-on experiences such as restoration work at MVC nature preserves, including Holland Sand Prairie State Natural Area.”
The Natural Resources Foundation of Wisconsin gave away more than $26,000 to 30 projects in the state.
“It was a very competitive process, and we’re pleased to support the wonderful work of the Mississippi Valley Conservancy and the Youth Land Conservation and Restoration program,” said Ruth Oppedahl, executive director of the Natural Resources Foundation of Wisconsin.
