The numbers are in from this past weekend's Festival Foods Grandad half-marathon in La Crosse. Nearly 3,000 athletes took part.
The annual event, formerly known as the La Crosse Fitness Festival, featured a half marathon along with other foot and bike races.
Organizers say between the number of participants and what they had to say about the event, it was a big success. "We made a lot of changes from last year with the course, the re-branding, I think we're finally heading in the right direction. Over the last five years, we've kind of been struggling to find our identity, I think we finally got it, we're definitely sticking with this course next year, it got such great feedback, overall it was a great day," said the event's marketing director Becca Schaar.
They're still figuring out how much money was raised. It will go to support the Saint Clare Health Mission and the La Crosse Parks and Rec Department.
