Name released of pedestrian struck by semi near Centerville

CENTERVILLE, Wis. (WKBT) -

The Trempealeau County Sheriff's Department released the name of the pedestrian who was hit by a semi in Centerville Thursday night.

Tyler J. Sobye, 29, of Gallesville, was hit while walking east on Highway 54, about a half mile from the Highway54/93 intersection at 9:15 p.m.

Tri-State Ambulance said Sobye was taken to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Brian Puent of the Trempealeau County Sheriff's Department said Sobye's medical status has improved, but there is no specific condition report available at this time.

No citations have been issued, Puent said. The incident is still under investigation and authorities still need to interview Sobye once his condition further improves.
