Three golfers share lead in Memphis

Friday's leader Rory McIlroy faded, a hard-charging Kevin Stadler leapt up the leaderboard before imploding and three players made their way into the lead Saturday at the FedEx St. Jude Classic.

Davis Love III, John Merrick and Nick O'Hern are all at 6 under after three rounds.

The lead changed hands several times as golfers battled the wind at the TPC at Southwind in Memphis.

McIlroy started the day in the lead by one stroke before going 3 over on the day an tumbling to 10th place.

Kevin Stadler, son of longtime pro Craig Stadler, started the day with an impressive charge that briefly gave him the lead but missed a series of chips and putts on the back 9, moving him back into a six-way tie for 4th place.

O'Hern had the best day of the three leaders shotoing 67. Love III was 2 under on the day and Merrick was 1 under.

19 players are within 3 shots of the lead going into the final day of the tournament.
