United Way looking for help to decide which programs to fund

A local non-profit is looking for help deciding which programs to fund.

The United Way wants more than 100 people to rate dozens of grant submissions they've received.

Last year, the organization funded 73 programs in the five county area.

The United Way is hoping enough people will be able to donate about eight hours of their time to help the organization make some tough decisions. "Someone that's passionate about the community, has a good understanding of community need, or someone that wants to read the grants, wants to get involved in volunteerism on a deeper level and wants to get a better understanding of our community through reading the grants," said United Way Community Impact Director Jason Larsen.

You can sign up to volunteer at the local United Way's website:

The deadline to volunteer is November 22nd.
