A pilot program preparing students for college courses earns UW-La Crosse national recognition.
The campus took home the Desire to Excel Award for collaborative work with a math readiness course.
It started in January and is open to anyone around the world looking to brush up on their skills.
School officials say work between UW-L departments, the U-W System, and extra tutors from UW-Milwaukee made the project possible.
And they're excited to be recognized for their work helping students succeed. "It's one of those things where it really was an honor to be nominated because it's a prestigious award, and to actually receive the award is unbelievable," said UW-L's Assoc. Vice Chancellor of Academic Affairs Robert Hoar.
More than 2,000 people from 40 different countries have taken the course.
