Onalaska police, with the help of La Crosse police, arrested the suspect in a car theft at Globe University.
The La Crosse Police Department received an anonymous tip telling them the whereabouts of Jake Donald Viner. La Crosse police immediately called Onalaska police. At about 1 p.m. Viner was arrested.
Viner is accused of stealing a vehicle from the Globe University parking lot on the night of Thursday, February 6. Viner is being held in the La Crosse County Jail.
"This is a prime example of two jurisdictions working with the public to get a criminal off the street," Onalaska Police Chief Jeffrey Trotnic said in a statement. "This individual was caught because of a working partnership between the police and the public."
Onalaska police identified the prime suspect in a car theft at Globe University in Onalaska.
An anonymous tip from a citizen help police identify the suspect as Jake Donald Viner. He's accused of stealing a vehicle from the Globe University parking lot on the night of Thursday, February 6.
The vehicle was recovered the fillowing morning.
Viner is described as a 27-year-old white man with brown hair and brown eyes. His records indicate that he is 6’2” tall and weighs about 200 lbs.
